Mr. Neal’s Creative Writing Classroom Blog asks bloggers to take part in a prompt. The idea is to make a post that describes what a poet's job is, in the same way you might describe what the president's job is.
Click here if you think you might like to take part.

Thanks for taking part.
Here is my contribution to the prompt.
Split open a soul
pour words out like wine
till you ache
till you feel
make you think
make you cry
Breakdown a wall
Paint new worlds for the blind
see my heart
see my fears
make you free
make you fly
And I bleed
all these words
like you bleed when you die
But I live just to bleed
Just to bleed
for your eyes
Sara, it's odd to see you signed in with just a name-probably the time away. I liked your poem a lot. It's powerful. You should have posted it on the site-not many will read it in a comment box-maybe that was your intention.
Three phrases really stuck out to me-the first stanza, "paint new worlds for the blind" and the last stanza. It was definetly a different approach than I took which was nice to see.
