Promote A Poet

The name of this game is Promote a Poet. Have you ever read a poem online and thought "I just have to tell someone about this!"

Leave a link to the poem that makes you feel that way. Share the love and support all poets who blog.

I will go first to get us started. Check out the comments to see the poem I picked.

Group Poem

Add two lines to this poem. Leave your lines in the comment section. I will add them to this post and post your name and site at the bottom of the post.

Fade to Sorrow by PWB poets

Wilting beneath the moonlight
after another day has died,

the rose of unplucked morrows
now lost to the wreathless tide.

Night hides my complexion from the masses.
Terrible scars make others shudder.

My doom to wander, faceless,
the wretched roads of temptation.

I trudge these rocky spaces,
presence begging for absolution.

Once fair, now rendered graceless.

Torn raw, no resolution.

Meet Debbie Morton

One of our newest poets to link here posts her work at Welcome to My Heart. When you dive into her written world you come to not only know her better but her thoughts on religon, family, history, faith, and man's inhumanity to man.

She writes about human tragedy in her poem The Cries of Katrina

Stop by and check out her work. Drop her a note to let her know that you support her and all poets who blog.

First Collage Poem

Another cheap paperback novel
banging in your head, head, head.

Tantalizing mental tastebuds,
a quill dipped in air and air my friend

it’s a sanctuary where she conceals
this collapse, this missing phrase.

Like plague on mankind,
reality interferes with all
dreams.

Meet Anna Williams

This poet links here, find her work in the sidebar under Free Poems. Anna Williams lists her poems on her blog by what age she was when she wrote it. That allows the reader to feel like they are accompanying her on her journey from childhood to teenager to womanhood.

Her latest poem, There are Men , touched my soul. I loved the way it flowed. The piece is inspirational for dream seekers and those you admire the ones who are brave, bold, and unselfish in this world.

Leave her a comment if you like it as much as I did.

Meet Lioness

The latest edition to our poetry link exchange list is Poetess of the People.

She writes not just on behalf of herself but for all the disenfranchised people in Kenya.

Her poem Metamorphosis struck a chord with me. Want do you think?

Is there a poem you read at the site of one of the poets linked here that you think more people should know about?

Leave a comment mentioning it.

Collage Poem

One of our poets who links here recently did a blog carnival. She went above and beyond the call of duty by arranging the entries into a collage poem.

Read it here at Knocking From Inside

I wouldn't mind putting together a collage poem to post here. If you are a poet who would like to submit a poem for me to use post a link to your poem in the comments. In a few weeks I will make a poem out of the responses, if I get at least five poets who want to take part.

What will they say about you?

This poet wrote a piece about what she would like to see on the back cover review of her first book of poetry. I love the way she put this together. Check it out at

Poet Mom

Without saying the word

One of our very own poets, who links here, came up with the idea that is being used at Poetry Thursday this week.

Clockwork Chris
suggested writing a poem about something beautiful without naming what the object is. A challenge, huh?

I loved this exercise. Let me know if you choose to take part so I can check out your poem.
